Product Failure Analysis and Design Corrective Action
Working with a client to investigate product failures in the field and to introduce a design change in order to improve quality and reduce after sales cost of service.
Project Summary: Our client was experiencing higher than normal field failures on a product. As part of the investigation, we reviewed the field data and design and walked through the "5 Whys" process to identify the root cause. After reviewing investigation results with the client, we presented a corrective action in the form of a design modification to a component. We then built a prototype of the new design to verify the corrective action and then introduced the change to the manufacturer for production.
